About MEHello and thank you for visiting!
This year I celebrate my 12th year of teaching High school math! I taught for 6 years in Covert, MI (go Bulldogs!) and 6 years (and counting) here at L.C. Mohr High School. I am originally from Tallahassee, Florida where I graduated from High school more than 20 years ago (OMG!) and where I attended Florida State University (GO SEMINOLES!). Why am I in Michigan you ask? I graduated from FSU with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I moved to Michigan to work at Johnson Controls in Holland, MI. I worked in engineering for 5 years when I decided to switch careers. It was then I received my Masters Degree in Secondary Education and was certified to teach math in grades 6-12. Over the years I have taught literally all secondary math: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Functions, Business Math ad AP Calculus. I have worked to develop courses and curriculum all designed to help students succeed. I love helping folks that want to be helped and trying to motivate those that do not want to be helped. YES YOU CAN...do math! In my spare (LOL) time I enjoy hanging with my family, reading novels, watching movies, singing, dancing & doing choreography at church, being creative (I was the Snow Queen in the 2015 Our Town Players production) and as of late I am have been learning to play the guitar. Oh, and I want to try and finally complete my Rosetta Stone course to become fluent in Spanish... I do live in the SH area so you may see me in town perhaps in Meijer or at Walmart. :) I am married to Mr. William Bettis who is a SH alumnus and we have three children who all attend school in the district. Let's have a great year! |
